European Union crisis is not existential, the crisis is undoubtedly a leadership one. When you decide based on the indication of polls you are not a leader and you deliver the power to extremism. This political class knew since the beginning that the governance rules were incomplete, the decision was taken (and not declared) to follow the strictest compliance to incomplete rules, knowing all too well the end result, the real, undeclared aim of these last years action. Success is coming to a few ones, an enormous cost will be paid by many.
